Venezuela:
a picturesque tropical country located in the northern section of South America. The country is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. It has South America`s largest lake and third-longest river, the highest waterfall in the world, and the longest of all snakes. It also has intriguing wildlife and some of the most spectacular landscapes you`ll ever see. There are the snowcapped peaks of the Andes in the west; steamy Amazonian jungles in the south; the hauntingly beautiful Gran Sabana plateau, with its unique flat-topped mountains in the east. The country is most well known for its 1,800 plus miles of beautiful coastline. In the coastal areas you have the chance to walk along snowy white sand beaches, swim in beautiful rocky coves, chat with the locals in quaint fishing villages, or travel just offshore to visit numerous enchanting islands set in sparkling clear waters. Travelling inland from the coastline, you will find a backdrop of lush rainforests and beautiful mountains. This area has something for everyone: mega resorts, serene spots, snorkelling, water sports, diving, deep sea fishing, plus much more! One of Venezuela`s most dramatic sights, Angel Falls is truly spectacular. Water plunges 3,212 ft/979 m, making it the world`s highest waterfall. As one heads westward from Caracas, the coastal plains quickly give way to foothills and finally into immense mountains. In the lower lying areas lie vast stretches of coffee plantations. Traveling deeper into these mountains on narrow winding roads, travelers have the chance to see small rustic farms, relatively isolated villages, small mountain lakes and glacier fed trout streams. Due to the regions long isolation you will find that many people follow traditions that have changed little over the centuries. The capital of Venezuela is a huge, vibrant, energetic South American city, renowned for the quality of its restaurants, where you can have meals from all over the world. It also has several shopping centers, modern and luxurious that makes shopping an interesting activity. Among the most popular buys for the tourists are gold jewels and shoes. In Caracas, gravity is defied by the city`s skyscrapers that are located under the Avila, a mountain that reaches 2600 meters. Venezuela is exceptionally rich in pure natural beauty. With 43 national parks and an array of other natural monuments and protected areas, it`s a fabulous destination for nature lovers and great for the outdoor recreational enthusiast. From snow capped Andean peaks to white-sand Caribbean beaches, from the Orinoco river basin to the skyscrapers of Caracas, and from the mysterious mesas of the Gran Sabana to the flooded plains of Los Llanos, Venezuela has an amazing variety of must-see sites, attractions and natural wonders. It is a country full of beauties and contrasts. Enjoy its beaches, mountains, plains and nature.
